About College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving Plano/Frisco

Around Frisco/Plano, the College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving crew people talk about isn’t the “national brand” in the abstract — it’s specific teams, specific leads, and how they show up when the day gets messy. And in the reviews, that’s the through-line: on time (sometimes early), quick, professional, friendly, and easy to deal with when you’re juggling a move, a dump run, and a thousand little surprises.

You see a lot of “fast and very helpful,” “speedy and productive,” “moving machines,” the kind of wording customers use when the crew doesn’t drag their feet or stand around on the clock. Plus folks keep mentioning they work hard on hot days, they stay respectful of your time, and they treat belongings like they’re supposed to — careful with the delicate stuff, even an antique dresser, and not banging up door frames. You ever watch a crew load a truck and think, okay these guys actually know Tetris? Customers notice that too. And when it’s junk removal, they call out the practical details: hauled away lawn furniture, kept electronic recycling grouped, took the trash with them when they left. No fuss, just get it gone.

Communication sounds like a real strength here. People mention solid phone support, responsive scheduling, updates that they’re on the way, and being able to get service with less than one day notice — even same day, “within hours.” That’s not common in this line of work unless the dispatch and crew coordination runs tight. And if you’ve ever tried to get “just one heavy piece” moved last minute… you know why that matters. They seem to jump in and save my neck jobs, not just big full-house moves.

Pricing is another thing locals sniff out fast, and the reviews read like they’ve been burned elsewhere. One customer flat-out says another company tried a bait and switch, but College Hunks stayed transparent with pricing and estimates — final bill exactly what the estimate was. That’s how you build repeat customers in this market. But, however, it’s not all perfect: you’ve got at least one 4-star note complaining about being charged for wrapping/tape, which tells me you want to ask up front what’s included vs. line-itemed. Maybe not the lowest price every time, as one person admits, yet they still picked them because they try to keep stuff out of the landfill.

Now for the bumps — because every operation has them. There’s a 1-star “never showed” estimate appointment, then an automated thank-you email later. That’s a coordination miss, plain and simple, and it frustrates people because your whole day sits on that window. And there’s the big 1-star nightmare review… but the owner response points out that job happened with the Garland franchise, not the Frisco/Plano location tied to these reviews. Does that matter to a customer? Sometimes not, because the logo on the truck looks the same. But it does tell you something about how this Frisco/Plano office handles problems: they respond, they separate location records, and they direct the complaint to the right operator instead of hand-waving it.

If you’re hiring the Frisco/Plano team, the pattern you keep seeing is simple: prompt, efficient, respectful crews, strong communication, and pricing that stays where the estimate said it would. And in this business, that combo is what people remember — that’s why their name keeps coming up when someone needs movers or junk hauled away without drama.

What customers say

  • College Hunks is always there to save my neck when I need it. A large local furniture store screwed up and didn't add on the furniture setup even though we requested it and thought we paid for it. So they dropped a 200 lb very large piece of furniture off on my front door that I needed to get upstairs and said good luck! College hunks was able to give me a booking to get some movers in for this one piece at a great rate in just a few hours. I also needed some junk from the recent move taken away and I had used them before for this and knew they were a good price and good service. I always recommend college hunks to my friends and family when they need these odd jobs and a strong extra set of hands. And this time was no different. Whole thing took 15 minutes. The employees were great like always. I know who I'll be thinking of first the next time I need something similar.

  • College Hunk Plano/Garland I have used College Hunk before but this was the first time I had a worse than bad experience. There were many things that went wrong. 1. I never received the 3 wardrobe boxes for my clothes. Now they must be packed and moved. I have pictures of my clothes still sitting in my closet. 2. I had a furniture dresser that was placed at the dumpster as trash. It now has to be moved in a separate trip. I must pay for somebody to load this on a truck and it be taken to my final destination. I MUST PAY FOR THIS! I have pictures of this dresser sitting at the dumpster. 3. When I got to my final destination, the unloaders were so upset at what they saw. They barely got the door open. They had to asked me to be responsible for them to open U Haul back door if they warped it, because the items were on the door. I have pictures of how this atrocity looked. The other moving company took pictures and reported the incident to their bosses. 4. I ask for a box with my medication to be packed in the Cab of the U Haul truck. It was packed in the nose of the trailer among many other boxes. I did become sick and was able to procure another prescription from the Walgreen’s I used for seven years. I suffered for several hours. I have proof from Walgreen’s of the extra prescription filled on Saturday, July 5th. This angered me the most. I am now forced to pay a mover to get the dresser and clothes to my final destination. THIS IS A SEPARATE COST! I cannot believe this is the company I once believed in and trusted. I am thankful to the College Hunks in Crowley, Texas. They took superior care of me. Plus offered me to be able to pay by Zelle. THANK YOU COLLEGE HUNKS CROWLEY. The College Hunk in Plano, Texas with Fernando and his Team needs the franchise taken away. I should not have had to pay for this poor service and now for an entirely separate mover to do what you failed to do. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I have two more moves I need to do …. I CANNOT DO COLLEGE HUNKS AND NEITHER WILL MY FAMILIES NOR FRIENDS.
