We reserved a pickup date and time two weeks in advance. The pick up was scheduled to be 2 hours before the buyers of our home were to do their final walkthrough before closing. So we were counting on Golden Line to show up. They said, “We will let you know once we are on our way”. At the schedule time of arrival, they were not there, so I called them on the phone. They didn’t answer, so I sent a message: ME: We need you here now to pick up the mattress and a couple of small things to go to the dump. We’re under a tight timeline and have about 20 minutes left before we have to lock the house up. GOLDEN LINE: Hi I apologize for the late notice, will it be possible to come by at 2-3pm ME: No! We need you here now, as promised. We’re moving out this morning, we have closing. And the buyers are showing up for their home inspection. We have to be out of here by 8:30 and all this crap has to be out of here. You have to get here. GOLDEN LINE: I just called and they are not going to be able to make it. (i’ll interject here to highlight the word “they”, as opposed to “we”.) Golden Line then offered to do the pick up in the afternoon, but would not guarantee a time. Instead, they said it would be“sometime today”. By this time, the buyers of our home were arriving in 20 minutes to do their final walk-through and we had a pile of junk sitting in the garage, so this offer was meaningless. I’ll cut the story short, but here’s the last thing I said to them: “Never mind. You failed us.”
