What customers say

My bin wasn't serviced this past Wednesday. Account in good standing. Lid closed.... nothing wrong with the bin. Called and was told to leave it at the curb and it would be serviced within the next 24 to 48 hours. Called again and was told if it wasn't picked up by 4:30, Friday, to call back and let them know. I tried calling..... nobody available. The bin was bumped over by a passing vehicle this morning, (Saturday),....I had to upright the bin, pick up the garbage, and put it back in. Perhaps I should be paid for my time....

First, the customer service here is absolutely wonderful and I have no complaints there. My issue is, that our trash hasn’t been picked up in 3 weeks and only has been picked up once since starting service. I have called probably 10 times and now we are overflowed with trash. I don’t get much of an answer besides looking at the notes, getting credit added to my account and that they sent a message to the driver for a reminder. I’m at a loss. I don’t get what’s going on and it sucks when you pay such a high price for something and service isn’t being provided.

I recently hired Emerson Excavating for a tree removal project at my property, and I couldn't be more pleased with their service. From the initial contact to the final cleanup, their team demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a strong commitment to doing the job right. Scheduling the service was straightforward and they were very responsive to my initial inquiries. They took the time to understand the scope of the work and provided a clear and reasonable estimate. On the day of the removal, the crew arrived on time and with all the necessary equipment. I was particularly impressed by their expertise and attention to safety throughout the entire process. They worked methodically and carefully, ensuring no damage to the surrounding landscape or property. The tree removal itself was handled efficiently and skillfully. They clearly knew what they were doing, and the entire process was completed in a timely manner. What truly stood out was their thorough cleanup afterward. They removed all debris, leaving the area neat and tidy, as if the tree had never been there. Overall, I highly recommend Emerson Excavating for tree removal services. Their professionalism, expertise, efficiency, and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. The cost of the service was fair and well worth the excellent results. Local Junk Disposal Rules & Recycling Programs in Greenville

  • In Greenville, regular household trash is typically collected weekly in city-issued carts, while recyclables are collected on a separate schedule; bulk items like furniture and mattresses usually require a scheduled bulk pickup or special request rather than being placed out with normal trash.
  • Residents are generally asked to place bulk items at the curb no earlier than the day before their scheduled pickup (often after late afternoon or evening) and no later than 7:00 a.m. on collection day, with items set close to the street but not blocking sidewalks, driveways, mailboxes, or storm drains.
  • Bulk pickup in many parts of Greenville is limited by volume, often around 5–10 cubic yards per visit (roughly a pile about the size of a small car: 6 ft wide × 10–15 ft long × 3–4 ft high); larger piles, whole-house cleanouts, or landlord turnovers usually require arranging private junk removal or multiple pickups.
  • There is a clear distinction between regular household trash (bagged kitchen and bathroom waste), recyclables (clean paper, cardboard, certain plastics, metals), bulk items (furniture, mattresses, small quantities of bundled yard waste), and construction & demolition debris (drywall, lumber, roofing, tile), which is often not accepted in normal bulk collection.
  • Construction and remodeling debris from projects in Greenville—such as old cabinets, flooring, and roofing—typically must be taken to an approved disposal or recycling facility or handled by a private junk removal or roll-off dumpster service; placing large amounts of construction debris at the curb can result in non-collection or extra fees.
  • Appliances, electronics, tires, and hazardous materials (paints, chemicals, oils, propane tanks) often have special rules and may need to go to designated drop-off locations or be handled by specialized haulers; leaving these items loose at the curb can lead to them being left behind.
  • To keep neighborhoods safe and clean, residents should stack bulk items neatly at the curb, keep materials out of ditches and away from storm drains, and avoid illegal dumping in vacant lots, wooded areas, or along creeks and streams.

Because rules and schedules can change, always confirm the latest trash, recycling, and bulk pickup guidelines on the official city or county sanitation website before placing items at the curb.

Frequently Asked Questions about Greenville Junk Removal

What kinds of items do junk removal companies in Greenville, South Carolina usually take?

Most Greenville junk removal services will take furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, boxes of household clutter, yard debris in reasonable amounts, and bagged trash from cleanouts. Many also handle garage and attic cleanouts, light construction debris, and office furniture, but it’s best to confirm specific items when you book.

Will Greenville junk haulers donate or recycle my items?

Many junk removal companies in Greenville try to donate usable furniture, clothing, and household goods to local charities and reuse centers, and they often recycle metals, electronics, and cardboard when possible. When you call, ask each hauler about their donation partners and recycling process so you can choose a company that keeps more items out of the landfill.

Do I need to be on-site during the junk removal appointment in Greenville?

It’s usually best to be on-site so you can point out exactly what needs to go and approve the final price. Some Greenville haulers will do curbside or driveway pickups without you present if everything is clearly marked and paid for in advance, but you should arrange this ahead of time.

How far in advance should I schedule junk removal in Greenville?

In Greenville, many junk removal companies can offer next-day or 2–3 day service for smaller jobs, especially on weekdays. For larger projects like estate cleanouts, office cleanouts, or big renovation debris, it’s wise to schedule at least a week in advance, and even earlier during busy moving seasons.

Are there items junk removal services in Greenville won’t take?

Yes. Most Greenville haulers will not take hazardous materials such as paints, solvents, gasoline, pesticides, or certain chemicals, and some limit large quantities of dirt, concrete, or roofing shingles. Ask your chosen company for a list of prohibited items and check with the local solid waste division for guidance on hazardous waste disposal.

Can junk removal companies handle construction debris from my home remodel in Greenville?

Many junk removal providers in Greenville can haul construction and demolition debris like lumber, drywall, and old fixtures, but this is usually priced separately from standard household junk. For very large remodeling projects, they may recommend a roll-off dumpster or multiple trips, so share details and photos when requesting a quote.

Responsible Junk Removal in Greenville

Responsible junk removal in Greenville means doing more than just getting rid of clutter. Before sending everything to the landfill, look for chances to donate usable furniture, appliances, and household goods so neighbors and local organizations can benefit. Metals, electronics, and cardboard can often be recycled, reducing waste and helping keep Greenville’s neighborhoods, parks, and nearby rivers cleaner.

Avoid illegal dumping in empty lots, wooded areas, canals, or waterways, as this can harm local wildlife and lead to fines. When you contact junk removal companies, ask about their donation partners and recycling practices, and use Junk Removal 365 to compare providers so you can choose haulers that prioritize reuse, donation, and recycling while handling your junk safely and legally.
