Junk Removal in Salem

Junk removal in Salem, Ohio serves a small Columbiana County city where most jobs are garage and basement cleanouts, appliance and furniture pickups, and clearing out family homes. Because Salem is compact and surrounded by townships, most haulers who work here also cover Lisbon, Alliance, Canfield, and the wider Youngstown area, so scheduling usually depends on which day a crew is routed through the county. Curbside service in Salem covers regular household trash, but volume jobs, renovation debris, and heavy items are faster to hand to a private hauler. The companies listed below quote before they load and can handle everything from a single couch to a full property cleanout.

Salem is a smaller market with 3 local haulers, so booking a day or two ahead usually gets you a better slot and a better price.

Pilolli Land & Tree Maintenance junk removal

About this business

Been around the junk removal scene in Salem long enough to spot who’s genuinely solid and who’s just all talk. Pilolli Land & Tree Maintenance? They’re one of those crews you can actually count on. From what folks say and what I’ve seen, they’re about showing up on time—no messing around there—which is a rare find nowadays. What customers say

I recently had this locally owned company come and place a drain as well as clear my yard of some unruly shrubs. Anthony was respectful of my property, and did a fantastic job. Great communication, suggestions, and completed work. I will recommend him everytime!

Tara Barr

Local family owned tree service. Not some big box company that doesn't care. Very professional and reasonably priced. Anthony came by for a quote and before the week was over, everything was taken care of and cleaned up. I had multiple trees (Over 7 large trees) Taken out for the installation of my new septic. We transformed woods into a yard. For the larger jobs like mine they used tracked equipment with little to no damage to my yard. They even went as far to hand rake my yard to get all the small sticks. Before picture is the same spot as the after picture. (After picture is post septic install and grass planted)

Local Junk Disposal Rules & Recycling Programs in Salem

  • Household trash in Salem is collected curbside on a weekly schedule; containers go out the night before or early on collection day.
  • Large items such as furniture and appliances are generally accepted only under the local bulk item rules, often with a limit and sometimes with an extra charge or a sticker.
  • Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners require refrigerant recovery before scrapping or disposal.
  • Electronics, paint, and household hazardous waste go to Columbiana County collection events and designated drop-off sites, not the curb.
  • Yard waste and brush follow a separate seasonal schedule from regular trash.
  • Construction and demolition debris from remodeling is not household trash and needs a private hauler or a licensed landfill trip.

Confirm current City of Salem and Columbiana County rules before setting large items out, since bulk limits and collection days change.

Frequently Asked Questions about Salem Junk Removal

How much is junk removal in Salem, OH?

Single items usually run about $80 to $150, and a half to full truck load is roughly $250 to $600. Rural pickups outside the city limits sometimes carry a small travel charge.

Will a hauler come out to Salem for one item?

Yes, though small single-item jobs in smaller markets are often scheduled for the day a crew is already working in Columbiana County, so ask about their route.

Can I get rid of an old fridge?

Yes. Appliances need refrigerant handled properly before scrapping, which is one reason most people hand fridges and freezers to a hauler rather than putting them at the curb.

What about a whole-house or estate cleanout?

Local crews handle full cleanouts, including sorting donations and scrap metal out of the load, which keeps disposal costs down on larger jobs.

Where do electronics and paint go?

To Columbiana County hazardous waste and electronics collection rather than curbside trash. A hauler can also take them and route them to a recycler.

Responsible Junk Removal in Salem

Responsible junk removal in Salem means separating what still has value before anything gets thrown away. Usable furniture, tools, and appliances can be donated locally or resold, and scrap metal from appliances and fixtures should be recycled rather than landfilled. Paint, chemicals, batteries, and electronics belong at Columbiana County collection points. Ask any hauler you hire how much of the load they expect to divert, and whether donations and metal come out before the rest goes to disposal.
