“My mother inquired about getting a bed WITH a mattress and a TV taken away & was quoted USD 325 by Empire State Junk Removal. She went ahead and made an appointment with a time window of 8am-10am. The day of the appointment, my mom called around 7:45am to confirm the window time and was told the driver would call 30 minutes prior to arrival. At 10:15am, we hadn't heard from them so WE call and were told they would arrive around 11:30am-12:00pm the latest, which was already frustrating as it was way past our appointment window and we had other plans for the day. We thought this would be completed by this point but we understood that things happen. 12:00pm comes and goes so we call back at 12:15pm and we are told they would arrive in 15 minutes. 12:45pm comes and goes. At this point, we are frustrated that they keep telling us a different time so we decide to call them to cancel altogether. At 12:50pm, they call back to tell us they are "a few blocks away". We agree to allow them to come and ask if there was any discount we can get for the inconvenience. The lady on the phone says she would have to ask her manager but the manager is not in. After a few complaints, she is all of a sudden able to ask the manager who says no because "we were told about the delay in the morning." Mind you - we were told about the delay after WE called to check in 15 minutes after our window time ended. At this point, it's already past 1:00pm and they are still not there. When they FINALLY arrived, they come to look at the items and tell my mother it's going to cost USD 400 because we never told them about the mattress which she did. She texted them pictures and told them about the mattress. I told him she was quoted USD 325 for the items in which he said he would "do us a favor and give us a great deal" and take the items + a small cabinet away for USD 325 (the original price she was already expecting). This company is filled with continuous lies from both the reception and driver & deception with prices and try to mask it as if they are "giving you a deal" and they absolutely do not respect your time and lie about when they will show up. The only positive thing I will say is that the two men who came were apologetic and finished the job within 20 minutes. But I would absolutely NOT recommend this company.”
