B&F Junk Removal junk removal
10out of 10
(219 reviews)

About this business

Around Hampton Roads, B&F Junk Removal has built the kind of word-of-mouth you only get by showing up and doing the work—on time, no fuss, and easy to deal with. I’ve watched a lot of haulers come and go, and the pattern in these reviews is consistent: people call around for quotes, get tired of the runaround, then land on B&F because the response is prompt and the price is fair. And they don’t seem to play the ...

What customers say

Great team to work with. Show up when they say they will and knock out the job ahead. Friendly too! Took a bunch of limbs o had cut back for way less than the tree services wanted.

Rob Stone

B&F came out, same day, and were fast and efficient in getting all our construction debris and other debris from a garage clean out and renovation. Their pricing was great! Definitely would recommend them for anyone who needs any removal in Hampton Roads!

Junkbegone junk removal
10out of 10
(58 reviews)

About this business

Around the 757, you hear the same handful of names come up when folks need junk removal, a last‑minute dumpster, or a load of gravel dropped where it actually needs to go. JunkBeGone is one of those outfits. And not because they run flashy ads—because they show up **on time**, answer the phone, and keep it **easy to deal with** when jobs get messy or schedules get tight. Most of the chatter I’ve seen is about Phil. ...

What customers say

Best price of gravel and delivery in town. Very responsive. Thank you Phil again for the great delivery and looking forward to future purchases.

Atlantic Junk Removal junk removal
10out of 10
(56 reviews)

About this business

Around Portsmouth and the Halifax-area job circles, Atlantic Junk Removal comes up the same way the good crews always do: “on time, easy to deal with, fair price, no fuss.” And that’s not accidental. You see a pattern in these reviews—clear communication, texted ahead of showing up, and then they actually arrive when they say they will. How many haulers can you honestly say that about? They run it like a tight, ...

What customers say

I honestly can’t recommend Atlantic Junk Removal enough — James and his team were absolutely fantastic! They helped me clear out a basement storage room that had been quietly collecting "stuff" for over 50 years, as well as other areas of the house and they made what felt like an overwhelming job completely painless. They handled everything: old furniture, appliances, small appliances, renovation debris, and all the random items that build up over decades. What really blew me away was how much they went above and beyond — they noticed items I hadn’t even tagged or remembered, checked with me first, and made sure nothing important was taken by mistake. That kind of care and attention is rare and so appreciated. The team was on time, friendly, efficient, and treated my home with total respect. They worked quickly, safely, and left the space clean when they were done. Pricing was really fair and transparent, with no surprises. If you’re in the Halifax or surrounding areas and need junk removal — big job or small — Atlantic Junk Removal is the company to call. James and his team are pros, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Toss Boss Junk Removal junk removal
10out of 10
(40 reviews)

About this business

Around here, Toss Boss Junk Removal feels like one of those outfits that actually runs like they say they will. You call, Logan answers—quick response, no phone tag—and you get a quote over the phone that people keep calling a fair price and “$200 cheaper than the major hauling company.” And that tracks with what I’ve seen in the local junk-removal world: the small operator who keeps overhead tight and passes it on, ...

What customers say

Logan and crew were prompt, professional and friendly. He quoted me less than competitors. After retiring from the Coast Guard, I had some old “starter home” couches and tables that needed to go. He and his crew had them out within 15 minutes. He is very flexible with customer time constraints. Top Notch company and highly recommended. Bonus: Logan is a Navy veteran. Ask if he offers a military discount

Did an amazing job. All around easy experience. Will definitely use them again!

Grantham’s Family Junk Removal junk removal
10out of 10
(39 reviews)

About this business

Grantham’s Family Junk Removal operates like the kind of crew you actually hope answers the phone in Hampton Roads—responsive, on time, and no fuss about it. I’ve seen plenty of “junk guys” who talk big and then ghost you or slide in with fuzzy pricing. But with Cody and Shannon, the pattern in these reviews stays consistent: people message them, and they’re able to come out same day, sometimes within an hour, and ...

What customers say

I had a bunch of junk in my backyard that really needed to go. They were fast and did a good job. They even took a piece of furniture out of my house. I would recommend them for your junk removal and clean up.

LoadUp Junk Removal junk removal

About this business

LoadUp Junk Removal is one of those outfits you’ll hear about from homeowners and office managers when they just want the junk gone with no fuss. Most of the reviews read the same way: book online, get a quick confirmation, and then a driver/crew keeps you in the loop with text messages so you’re not sitting around all day wondering when someone’s going to roll up. And in this line of work, that “responsive” piece ...

Haul Gone LLC junk removal
9out of 10
(22 reviews)

About this business

Haul Gone LLC has been around enough local jobs that you start to hear the same pattern from different angles: when they’re on, they’re **#1 SERVICE** in that boots-on-the-ground, “dumpster delivered super quick” kind of way. Omar’s the name that comes up over and over — the guy on the phone, the coordinator, the one keeping the schedule moving. And a lot of folks describe the operation the same way crews do in the ...

What customers say

i had a fantastic experience with Haul Gone. Omar and his team were incredibly personable and easy to work with from start to finish. I was especially impressed by their flexibility with my schedule and their ability to problem-solve on the fly when logistics got tricky. They were extremely clean and took great care of my personal property, making sure everything was handled safely. I'm my opinion, its rare to find a service that is this efficient while still being thoughtful, professional and budget friendly. I not only recommend them but will use them in the future for services when needed!

Let me say I was referred to Omar by a different company, he coordinated a time for pickup on a Saturday 3 days in advance. Come that time he was no where to be found. He said he was 30 mins in traffic that was a lie, then he said the driver was pulling up and that was a lie. Then he apologized said he was embarrassed he woukd give a discount and whatever other nonsense. This is more than 2 hours later. I call him and I said I wanted to know where was his person and what was the issue, in the background my wife was also letting her frustrations be known and like a child Omar decided to hangup. He could not take accountability or responsibility and decided his out was by claiming he was feeling disrespected on the other end by someone not on the phone. Pure immaturity in business. Here is the kicker, after I decided to move on from his amateur antics his driver shows up out of the blue 35 mins later while I am finalizing plans with a different company. The man Luis seemed nice, told me he had not spoken to Omar after his antics and he was ready to do the work. He had his wife and 2 kids with him and honestly I had no problem with him, his fake boss Omar was the issue. Come to find out Omar is more of a handler just finding work and subbing it out. I let Luis do the work with his wife, my son played with his daughter and I paid Luis more money than I negotiated with Omar and I hope he kept most of it. Beware of Omar he is an amateur, immature over his head hustler not a professional business man. Luis was the only bright spot here

S & D Dumpsters & Junk Removal junk removal
10out of 10
(18 reviews)

About this business

Around here, S & D Dumpsters & Junk Removal runs like the kind of outfit you keep in your phone because they make the messy stuff simple. You call, you get a real answer, and they show up on time—sometimes you’ll hear “called on Sunday evening and he had the trailer… early Monday morning.” That’s not hype, that’s how a crew stays busy in this line of work. And the common thread in the reviews is communication that ...

What customers say

In March, Eric and his team took care of breaking down demolishing my old, yet sturdy, shed in my backyard. Never had to physically meet, because communication was great, sent me pictures when done & gave me a reasonable price quote. Cleaned up & even took away bags of leaves/grass clipping for me. Would definitely recommend and call if/when I need their services. Thank you.

Sun Disposal junk removal
9.4out of 10
(13 reviews)

About this business

Sun Disposal’s the kind of outfit you hear about from other trades because they actually make your job easier, not harder. And that starts on the phone. Folks mention talking to a young lady who’s very knowledgeable about what type of roll away container you need—so you’re not guessing, not upsold, just pointed to the right box for the job. Got a tight 10 day window and time is of the essence? They don’t get cute ...

What customers say

The owner and her team are absolutely fabulous! We've partnered with Sun Disposal back in 2015 and they've been an important part of our WTA Family! Thank you Sun Disposal for always providing great customer service to all the wonderful famlies who hire us for their roofing and siding needs. You are a great partner!

WT ANDERSON ROOFING & SIDING

I had the pleasure of talking to a young lady that was very knowledgeable as to what type of roll away container I needed. Time was also of the essence for a project that was deadlined within a 10 day window. The driver was very skillful in dropping it of between two houses. Amazing company. I will only use them in the future.

Local Junk Disposal Rules & Recycling Programs in Portsmouth

  • Regular household trash in Portsmouth is typically collected curbside once per week in city-issued carts, while recyclables are collected on a separate schedule; carts should usually be placed at the curb the evening before collection or by early morning on pickup day.
  • Bulk trash (large household items like furniture and mattresses) is often collected by appointment or on designated routes, and items should typically be set out no earlier than 24 hours before pickup and no later than 7 a.m. on your scheduled day.
  • Many bulk pickup programs in Portsmouth have volume limits, often around 5–10 cubic yards per collection (roughly a pile about the size of a small car, such as 6 ft wide × 10–15 ft long × 3 ft high); larger piles may require multiple pickups or a special arrangement.
  • Residents are generally expected to separate regular household trash, recyclables (such as clean cardboard, paper, and certain plastics), and bulk items; loose yard waste like branches and bagged leaves is usually handled under separate yard debris rules and should not be mixed with furniture or household junk.
  • Construction and demolition debris (drywall, roofing, concrete, bricks, large renovation waste) is typically not accepted in normal bulk trash service and often must be taken to an approved disposal site or handled by a private junk removal or roll-off dumpster company.
  • When placing bulk items at the curb, residents should keep sidewalks, driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants, and storm drains clear, and avoid blocking traffic lanes or piling items under low power lines or tree branches.
  • Hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals, automotive fluids, and certain electronics usually require special handling and are not allowed in regular trash or bulk piles; these items should be taken to designated drop-off events or facilities when available.

Because rules and schedules can change, residents should always confirm the latest trash, recycling, and bulk pickup guidelines on the official city sanitation website or through the local solid waste division.

Frequently Asked Questions about Portsmouth Junk Removal

What kinds of items do junk removal services in Portsmouth, Virginia usually take?

Most Portsmouth junk removal companies will haul away furniture, mattresses, appliances, household clutter, yard debris, small amounts of construction waste, and garage or attic cleanout items, as long as they are non-hazardous and safe to handle.

Will Portsmouth junk haulers donate or recycle my items?

Many junk removal services in Portsmouth try to donate usable furniture, working appliances, and household goods to local charities and send metals, cardboard, and some electronics to recycling facilities when possible. It’s a good idea to ask each hauler what they donate or recycle before booking.

Do I need to be on-site for a junk removal pickup in Portsmouth?

In Portsmouth, most haulers prefer that you are on-site for the first visit so they can confirm the load and final price, but some will do curbside or driveway pickups without you present if items are clearly marked and payment is arranged in advance.

How far in advance should I schedule junk removal in Portsmouth?

For standard loads, scheduling 2–3 days in advance is often enough in Portsmouth, but during busy times like spring cleaning or before major holidays, you may want to book a week or more ahead to get your preferred date and time.

Will junk removal companies in Portsmouth take construction and renovation debris?

Many Portsmouth junk removal providers will take light construction debris such as lumber, drywall, and flooring, but there may be extra fees, weight limits, or restrictions on heavy materials like concrete and bricks, so always confirm details when requesting a quote.

Can junk removal services handle whole-home or estate cleanouts in Portsmouth?

Yes, several Portsmouth-area haulers offer full estate and whole-home cleanout services, including clearing furniture, appliances, and household contents from basements, attics, and sheds, though these larger projects usually require an on-site estimate and advance scheduling.

Responsible Junk Removal in Portsmouth

Responsible junk removal in Portsmouth means doing more than just getting rid of clutter. Whenever possible, donate usable furniture, appliances, and household goods so they can help another family, and recycle metals, electronics, cardboard, and other recoverable materials instead of sending everything to the landfill.

Avoid illegal dumping in empty lots, ditches, canals, or waterways around Portsmouth, as it can harm local neighborhoods and the Elizabeth River. When comparing haulers on Junk Removal 365, ask each provider about their donation partners, recycling practices, and how they handle hazardous or sensitive items so you can choose a company that prioritizes reuse, donation, and environmentally responsible disposal.
