If you need to get rid of unwanted items FAST, call and schedule an appointment with Junk Kings. I was able to schedule an appointment online and confirm payment for next day morning pickup….they were quick, prompt, and had impeccable service. The team that arrived had great customer service and were very professional. I would encourage others to contact Junk Kings if you need to clear out or clean up unwanted items around your home. I will definitely utilize them in the future.

S Jackson

I was able to get an appointment with Junk King very quickly. I was told that they would come out and give me an free estimate to haul away the nonworking refrigerator. The gentleman who came was very personable and I felt very comfortable having him in my home. I decided to go ahead and pay the price they were asking for the fridge removal. I was hoping for a lower price but glad that I went ahead with the removal.

Quick service, great response to request for pick up of yard waste and easy to complete form and communications were great. Cost over our budget for us but they were friendly and willing to take a little more than agreed upon. I would recommend LoadUp!

Jane Thompson

Load Up was great. Initially, AI misquoted me, however, I was immediately answered by a real person who corrected the quote. I paid and they came the right day and removed everything. I would absolutely use LoadUp again.

My go to when our company needs a dumpster. Easy to use online service with up front prices and sizes you can easily pick what you need and view availability then request the day needed. Standard is 7 day rental, if it’s ready before then they have always been able to pick it up early. Fast and friendly service.

Justin Vasconcellos

These folks were awesome. Customer service was great. Pricing was lowest I found for the size dumpster I thought I needed. Ended up getting a second dumpster and they were very accommodating with pick up and delivery. Highly recommend them.

What customers say

This is a delayed review, as I have been extremely busy with work, school, and other obligations, but it is one that I absolutely had to leave. I used Josh's services close to 3 weeks ago, and I was nothing short of blown away by the efficiency, professionalism, and overall terrific experience. Although Josh could not physically be there on the day of my move, he set clear expectations with me ahead of time so that I was aware of who would be in charge, as well as the exact team of young men I should expect. The move itself went extremely well. A team of 4 men worked quickly, diligently, and efficiently to ensure that all of mine and my son's belongings were transported and positioned safely and without even the slightest damage. Unbeknownst to Josh or his employees, this move was of great importance to my small family, as we had endured a trying couple of years at a residence with which we were simply unhappy. Moving day is typically one of excitement for most people, but ours signaled entry into a brand new phase of life for me and my son, so our excitement felt that much more significant. The movers even complimented our new home multiple times, which felt really good, as it is something for which I had worked extremely hard. I have already shared my complete satisfaction with Josh personally, but I wanted to make sure that anyone in search of movers would also know of the stellar work his team did for me. 10/10 - HIGHLY recommend. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Josh and his team are absolutely amazing! Not only are they good people, they work hard and efficiently. We had a deck to be removed and it proved to be a hard job, but Josh and his team did it quickly! They were willing and able to do clean up and asked if we wanted anything else removed. I found this link online and sent an inquiry. Josh quickly followed up with a text and gave us a quote based on pictures. Within a day they were out here getting the job done. Highly recommended and will be sending them to all our friends and family. Worth every penny!

Pete and Ahmed, along with the entire Redbox+ team, including their dedicated drivers and support staff, have been absolutely incredible. College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Thomasville junk removal

What customers say

Customer Beware! We used Hunks for moving out of our home in June. The young men who came to help us were very nice, hardworking, professional. HOWEVER, they were clearly not experienced or qualified movers. Scratched several furniture pieces. Dropped a dresser on our sidewalk. Used basically no padding to protect our furniture when moving into storage units, and as such, we have sustained damage to many of our items. Further, when we have attempted to contact management to discuss this issue (on multiple occasions) we have had little to no response. Very disappointing. I suspect they are good at junk services etc. But do not consider them professional movers for items of value to your home. They are not trained for that.

Robert Henderson

The first time I used College Hunks I was thoroughly impressed. When I had to move again, I 100% knew I would use them. Let me preference this review by saying the first time I moved with them, I moved from my hometown over three hours away. Nothing was broken. However, my recent move with them was twenty minutes between apartments and the move was less than satisfactory. The crew threw my stuff around without regard for the price of the furniture. When I began unpacking I notice several broken items. Just to name a few items that were damaged a set of mixing bowls, a vase, and a casserole dish shattered. During the move they put a trash can on my white couch which I personally think is unhygienic and their truck must have been filthy as that once white couch is no longer white. I also provided them with a couch cover that the crew ultimately ripped holes in, so it was no longer usable. (A waste of my money). I had a gun safe moved and they must have dropped it at some point in time as it has a big unexplainable dent in it. They also helped themselves to my personal belonging like using my packing tape and kitchen silverware without asking. On the phone I was also told that they do not move televisions as it is an insurance issue but when the movers arrived on sight they asked me where my TVs I wanted moved were. I told them I hired an additional company to move them as I was advised they wouldn’t. The worker laughed and said “they lied to you.” Also beware of the quotes they give you. I was originally quoted $200 for my move and ended up paying nearly $700 to move a one bedroom apartment, that I packed myself when it was all said and done. It is safe to say on my next move I will not be using their services again. Update (7/25/25): The day of the move 7/15/25, I submitted a claim for the broken and damaged items from my move. On 7/23/25 I received a call from the office to follow up on the matter at 1:30 in the afternoon, as I was working I tried to call back at 3. A man answered the phone and told me another specialist in the office (Grace) had been assigned my ticket and he was going to transfer me to her. I was hung up on and tried to call back five times before five pm (close of business) that day. No one picked up the phone and the voicemail box said it was full and not accepting messages. On 7/24/25 I called six times throughout the day, no answer, voicemail full. On 7/25/25 I decided to call again using my number; same story… no answer, voicemail full. I got the feeling they were purposely not answering my call. After trying *67 not even a minute after calling on my original number, what would you know…. someone answers the phone. It’s quite clear that they are trying to avoid resolving this issue. Update 7/30/25 - after contacting college hunks customer service I was given Tyler’s number (the manager of the branch) he messaged me that afternoon to apologize about my experience and informed me the owners would be getting in contact with me either Thursday or Friday. It is now close of business August 1st, I have tried to call message Tyler again, with no success. Update 8/11/24 - The following week, (August 4rth) I got a call from the Greensboro Hunks location to inquire about this review. They provided me with the owners direct cellphone number. I will say the owner is a very nice man and was apologetic for everything that had happened. We were able to come to a resolution. However, it doesn’t bring back the broken or damaged items that I lost nor excuse the lack in professionalism at his branch. I would like to reiterate I have used a different college hunks location before and the service was impeccable. In summary, buyer beware.

WM - Winston-Salem Hauling junk removal

What customers say

Drivers seem to think it's ok to pick up trash and leave trash and waste in the parking lot. This is smelly, disgusting and it wasn't the appearance prior to our service. This needs to be taken into consideration and not create additional work from our team when WM is getting paid for this service.

iamtheressastephens

Predatory company. They automatically renew your contract before the renewal date. You must give written notice of termination at least ninety (90) days, but not more than one hundred eighty (180) days, prior to the termination. Once you sign a contract with them they bully you to stay with them. They automatically raise rates without your consent or notification. Of course they say you consented by signing a contract years ago. There are privately owned companies that want and need your business. I switched to a company that was proud enough to put their phone number on the homepage of their website.

Piedmont Disposal junk removal

What customers say

We had many disposal companies to choose from, but what set Piedmont apart was that they weren’t just a disposal company - they were a people - first company. Eric took the time to ask how my morning was and where I wanted the dumpster placed, showing genuine care and attention to detail. This was our second time using Piedmont for a project and it definitely won’t be the last.

Jeff Hollack

We called them on a last minute deal for an event we were having, and they were able to get us set up in their system, sent me all the required forms, had us scheduled in the same day. They were able to bring everything out to us when we needed it with no hesitation. They are great people and incredibly easy to work with!

Local Junk Disposal Rules & Recycling Programs in Winston-Salem

  • Regular household trash in Winston Salem is typically collected once a week from city-issued carts placed at the curb or designated pickup point, with carts set out no earlier than the evening before collection and by early morning (often 6–7 a.m.) on pickup day.
  • Recyclables are usually collected on a separate schedule using a dedicated recycling cart; residents should place only accepted materials like clean paper, cardboard, metal cans, and certain plastics in the cart and keep bagged trash, yard waste, and bulky items out of recycling.
  • Bulk items such as furniture, mattresses, and non-hazardous household junk are often collected on scheduled routes or by appointment; items should typically be placed at the curb no earlier than 24 hours before pickup and by 7 a.m. on the scheduled day, with doors removed from appliances for safety.
  • Many city bulk programs in the area have volume limits, often around 5–10 cubic yards per pickup (roughly a pile about the size of a small car: 6 ft wide × 10–15 ft long × 3–4 ft high); larger piles, full-house cleanouts, or multiple loads usually require special arrangements or a private junk removal service.
  • Construction and demolition debris (such as drywall, lumber, roofing, tile, concrete, and large renovation waste) is typically not accepted in regular trash carts or standard bulk pickup; residents are often required to haul it to an approved disposal site, rent a dumpster, or hire a private junk removal or roll-off container service.
  • Hazardous materials like paint, chemicals, automotive fluids, and certain electronics generally cannot go in regular trash or bulk piles; these items usually must be taken to a designated household hazardous waste or special collection facility operated by the county’s solid waste division.
  • When setting out bulk items, residents should keep sidewalks, mailboxes, driveways, fire hydrants, and storm drains clear, placing items close to the curb but not in the street so that collection trucks can safely access them.

Because rules and pickup schedules can change, residents should always confirm the latest trash, recycling, and bulk collection guidelines on the official city or county sanitation website.
