Absolute Hot Garbage, Raging Dumpster Fire I'm pretty sure Republic's business model went right to the dump, I just wish they could have picked up my trash along the way. Seriously. Trash day here is a complete and utter joke. Is it a holiday? Delayed. Did it rain? Delayed. Is it sunny? Delayed. Is Mercury in retrograde and Pisces doing Pisces things? You guessed it: delayed. Any day that ends in '-day' that's supposed to be your collection day is a high-stakes gamble I always lose. To make matters worse, their customer service representatives are as pleasant as your missed pickup, festering in the scorching sun, peak humidity right after a monsoon. Mmmm, the aroma of old garbage, heat, and rain... 10/10 do not recommend. I’d rather deal with the cans than the agents. Their service is completely invisible. The one time they showed up was the day they came to collect the cans—with no email, no call, no text—straight ghosting me like a bad date. Well, the feeling is definitely mutual . Happy to add Republic to the lengthy list of garbage ex's. We are both better off going our separate ways. Hey lonely in Tucson, were we dating the same girl? I should call her…doubt she’ll pickup.

Billed amount consistently increased while the quality of service stayed below acceptable levels with at least one missed pick up a month. Called to cancel service after getting a quote from Titan ($96/quarter vs $130/quarter with Rep) and was on hold for 30 minutes to be strung along by a sales person who was unable to do her job by herself. Then told me there is a $100+ charge to pick up cans that I've had since Diggins had the contract. They will nickel and dime you at every opportunity. Don't bother replying with a request for an email. Your company has sucked up enough of my time.

What a relief! I’m so glad I called Dump the Junk to remove my desk, credenza, large plastic chair mat, armoire, window blinds, and other stuff that’s been sitting around because we didn’t know where to take it. Our trash company won’t take big stuff. They said we could rent a roll off box from them, but it would have cost us more than we paid Dump the Junk AND we would have to lift all that stuff into the roll off box that would sit in our driveway for days. If you have stuff to get rid of, call Sean for a quote. His guys were fast, polite and very careful not to bump my walls or other furniture. I highly recommend them!

Crystal Johnson

These guys were the absolute best! Sean and Michael proved that there are still companies and employees out there with excellent customer service! These guys truly appreciate the business they get and value their customers. Their pricing was far better than others...they were so great- I truly felt I should have paid more! These guys were thorough, efficient, ON TIME and polite. Others companies should take note! I spoke to another company before Dump the Junk, North junkers, and was quoted almost double and that was after the employee spit in my yard. USE DUMP THE JUNK!

Super friendly, professional and fast. We requested a quote on Monday morning and by Wednesday at 15:30 the LARGE project was almost complete. The junk removal team is sensitive to how difficult this clean out was (loss of both parents who kept literally everything). Five stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Kal and his crew were quick and efficient! Great price, will be calling back when I get more junk! Much appreciated.

Had a dumpster delivered and picked up a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to share my experience. Starting with communication-- it was kind of a last-minute decision for us, but the office staff was quick to reply, friendly, and super helpful. I asked quite a few questions, which were all answered quickly and helpfully. Our dumpster was delivered the next morning by Dennis. He was very careful backing down our long, narrow driveway, and was able to drop the dumpster exactly where we wanted it. We thought there might be a bit of an issue with placement, but Dennis assessed the situation and had several solutions to try. Within minutes the dumpster was positioned correctly and we were ready to get to work on our project. Pick up a few days later was quick and on-time, with a confirmation that morning, then a heads-up from the office staff about 15 minutes before they arrived. The drivers were respectful of our property, professional, and helpful. The dumpster was clean, odor free, and well-maintained (of course, it's a dumpster, so there are some dents and dings). I would absolutely use Bin There again, and have already recommended them to several people.

I called Bin There Dump That Dumpster Rentals for a dumpster to be delivered to my house to clean out my garage and shed. From the receptionist that took my call to the driver that delivered the dumpster was such an easy, painless process. They really care about the customers. The driver put down material to protect my driveway from being damaged when being unloaded. I love being able to use a local, trustworthy, family owned and operated business! I would give 10 stars if possible! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Mike S and Demaxcohio were wonderful!! They arrived on time, were very professional, and kept me informed about the process. They had a pleasant disposition and were a joy to work with. Mike S was clear and fair about the estimation and made the process quick and simple. I had a queen size bed removed including the headboard and mattresses. Demaxcohio was focused and efficient. They both did a fantastic job. I will definitely use this service again!

Local Junk Disposal Rules & Recycling Programs in Houston

  • Regular household trash in Houston is typically collected curbside once a week in carts or bags, while recyclables are collected on a separate schedule; residents should keep trash, recycling, and any bulk items in clearly separated piles so crews can identify what goes where.
  • Bulk trash such as furniture, mattresses, and non-hazardous household items is usually picked up on a set day for your neighborhood; items are often required to be placed at the curb no earlier than the day before collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. on pickup day.
  • Many Houston neighborhoods have a volume limit for bulk pickup, often around 5–8 cubic yards per collection (roughly a pile about 6 ft wide × 10–12 ft long × 3 ft high); larger piles may be tagged and require a special request, extra fees, or a private junk removal service.
  • Construction and demolition debris from remodeling projects—such as drywall, tile, roofing, bricks, and large amounts of lumber—is typically not accepted in regular bulk pickup and often must be taken to an approved disposal facility, placed in a rented dumpster, or removed by a private junk hauler.
  • Yard waste like bagged leaves, bundled branches, and grass clippings is usually collected separately from bulk junk; branches often must be cut to a certain length and bundled with string or twine so crews can handle them safely.
  • Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, automotive fluids, propane tanks, certain electronics) are generally not allowed in curbside trash or bulk piles and must be taken to designated household hazardous waste facilities or special collection events.
  • When setting out bulk items, residents should place them at the curb in front of their property without blocking sidewalks, driveways, mailboxes, or storm drains, and avoid placing items under low power lines or tree branches so collection trucks can safely access them.

Because rules and schedules can vary by neighborhood and change over time, always confirm the latest trash, recycling, and bulk pickup guidelines on the official city or county sanitation website before placing items at the curb.

Frequently Asked Questions about Houston Junk Removal

What kinds of items do junk removal companies in Houston usually take?

Most Houston junk removal services will haul away furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, boxes of household clutter, yard debris, and bagged trash, along with small amounts of construction debris like wood, tile, and drywall. Very heavy materials or hazardous waste may require special handling or a different service.

Will a junk removal company in Houston donate or recycle my items?

Many Houston haulers try to donate usable furniture, clothing, and household goods to local charities and send metals, electronics, and cardboard to recycling facilities when possible. Policies vary by company, so ask your hauler how they handle donations and what percentage of items they typically divert from the landfill.

Do I have to be home when the junk removal crew arrives in Houston?

In Houston, many companies prefer that you be on-site to confirm what should go and approve final pricing, but some will offer curbside or driveway pickup if items are clearly marked and accessible. If you cannot be home, confirm payment arrangements and access instructions with the hauler in advance.

How far in advance should I schedule junk removal in Houston?

For standard loads, scheduling 2–3 days in advance is often enough in Houston, especially on weekdays. During busy times like spring cleanouts, summer moves, or post-storm cleanups, it’s wise to book at least a week ahead to get your preferred date and time.

Will Houston junk removal companies take construction and remodeling debris?

Many local haulers do accept construction debris such as lumber, cabinets, flooring, and drywall, but they may charge higher rates for heavy loads and limit materials like concrete, brick, or roofing. Always describe your project in detail so the company can confirm what they accept and provide an accurate quote.

Can junk removal services in Houston handle large property or estate cleanouts?

Yes, many Houston junk removal providers specialize in full home, estate, or office cleanouts and can bring multiple trucks and crew members. These jobs usually require an on-site estimate and may be completed over several trips, depending on the size and access to the property.

Responsible Junk Removal in Houston

Responsible junk removal in Houston means keeping usable items out of the landfill whenever possible. Before tossing everything, consider donating furniture, working appliances, and household goods so they can be reused by local families, and ask your hauler to separate metals, electronics, cardboard, and other recyclables.

Avoid illegal dumping in empty lots, bayous, canals, or along roadways, which can cause flooding, attract pests, and lead to fines. When comparing companies on Junk Removal 365, look for Houston providers that clearly explain their donation partners, recycling practices, and commitment to reuse so you can clean up your space while minimizing your impact on the environment.
