Potomac Pros Removal Services LLC junk removal

(92 reviews)

About this business

Around here, Potomac Pros Removal Services LLC is the kind of outfit you hear about the same way you hear about a good plumber—somebody says “call Mauricio,” and that’s basically the whole referral. Folks keep describing the same pattern: on time, responsive, easy to deal with, and they don’t turn a simple couch removed or fridge removed into a drawn-out production. And it’s not just “they showed up.” They ...

What customers say

Super reliable, respectful, professional, fair, and kind people. Made our big haul of furniture and house items move very smooth and stress free. I would highly recommend their services! Thank you for all the help.

Needhi Sharma

We contacted Goodwill for a large donation after our parents died recently and Mauricio of Potomac Pros Removal Services was the person who was assigned to pick up. He and his team were so friendly, caring, and helpful. They made sure that we were able to donate the maximum number of items, even things that we didn’t think would be able to be donated. And Mauricio went above and beyond to help us out a few days later with another donated. I would highly recommend working with Mauricio and his company.

About this business

Angeles Public Dump over on Emery St is one of those places locals talk about in two sentences: the staff is friendly and the pricing is the pricing. About this business

Supreme Junk Removal & Services is one of those Auburndale outfits you hear about the same way you hear about a good plumber—someone says, “call Lindo,” and that’s that. Around Boston, trash/junk removal gets messy fast: tight driveways, shared two-family entries, surprise add-ons, heavy awkward stuff, and timelines that shift on you. And these guys seem built for that reality, not bothered by it. Communication is ...

Kirstyn Gouldner

I recently had an outstanding experience with Jordan and James, who provided exceptional service when I needed to have my old bed and desk hauled away. From the outset, their responsiveness was impressive; they promptly got back to me and were incredibly accommodating when I had to adjust my appointment due to a delay in my new bed’s delivery. To my surprise, when my new bed arrived earlier than expected, they were able to reschedule and come sooner, which was a huge relief. On top of that, I asked if they could assemble my new adjustable base, and they happily agreed. They arrived right on time, showcasing both kindness and efficiency throughout the process. I even decided to add the assembly of two more items, and they tackled those requests without hesitation. They went above and beyond by not only setting up my new mattress on the frame but also hauling away all the boxes afterward. My parents and I were thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and willingness to help. I'm so grateful to have found their business and cannot recommend them highly enough. If you’re looking for reliable and friendly service, look no further! Thank you, Jordan and James, for making this transition so much easier!

College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Thomasville junk removal
7.8out of 10
(91 reviews)

About this business

If you’ve ever dealt with junk removal in the Thomasville or Winston-Salem area, you know it can be a hassle trying to find a crew that shows up on time, is easy to deal with, and doesn’t nickel-and-dime you once the job starts. College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving here is one of those teams that has built a solid local rep for getting in, getting the junk out, and being straightforward about the price. They tend ...

What customers say

The first time I used College Hunks I was thoroughly impressed. When I had to move again, I 100% knew I would use them. Let me preference this review by saying the first time I moved with them, I moved from my hometown over three hours away. Nothing was broken. However, my recent move with them was twenty minutes between apartments and the move was less than satisfactory. The crew threw my stuff around without regard for the price of the furniture. When I began unpacking I notice several broken items. Just to name a few items that were damaged a set of mixing bowls, a vase, and a casserole dish shattered. During the move they put a trash can on my white couch which I personally think is unhygienic and their truck must have been filthy as that once white couch is no longer white. I also provided them with a couch cover that the crew ultimately ripped holes in, so it was no longer usable. (A waste of my money). I had a gun safe moved and they must have dropped it at some point in time as it has a big unexplainable dent in it. They also helped themselves to my personal belonging like using my packing tape and kitchen silverware without asking. On the phone I was also told that they do not move televisions as it is an insurance issue but when the movers arrived on sight they asked me where my TVs I wanted moved were. I told them I hired an additional company to move them as I was advised they wouldn’t. The worker laughed and said “they lied to you.” Also beware of the quotes they give you. I was originally quoted $200 for my move and ended up paying nearly $700 to move a one bedroom apartment, that I packed myself when it was all said and done. It is safe to say on my next move I will not be using their services again. Update (7/25/25): The day of the move 7/15/25, I submitted a claim for the broken and damaged items from my move. On 7/23/25 I received a call from the office to follow up on the matter at 1:30 in the afternoon, as I was working I tried to call back at 3. A man answered the phone and told me another specialist in the office (Grace) had been assigned my ticket and he was going to transfer me to her. I was hung up on and tried to call back five times before five pm (close of business) that day. No one picked up the phone and the voicemail box said it was full and not accepting messages. On 7/24/25 I called six times throughout the day, no answer, voicemail full. On 7/25/25 I decided to call again using my number; same story… no answer, voicemail full. I got the feeling they were purposely not answering my call. After trying *67 not even a minute after calling on my original number, what would you know…. someone answers the phone. It’s quite clear that they are trying to avoid resolving this issue. Update 7/30/25 - after contacting college hunks customer service I was given Tyler’s number (the manager of the branch) he messaged me that afternoon to apologize about my experience and informed me the owners would be getting in contact with me either Thursday or Friday. It is now close of business August 1st, I have tried to call message Tyler again, with no success. Update 8/11/24 - The following week, (August 4rth) I got a call from the Greensboro Hunks location to inquire about this review. They provided me with the owners direct cellphone number. I will say the owner is a very nice man and was apologetic for everything that had happened. We were able to come to a resolution. However, it doesn’t bring back the broken or damaged items that I lost nor excuse the lack in professionalism at his branch. I would like to reiterate I have used a different college hunks location before and the service was impeccable. In summary, buyer beware.

Cailyn Reynaud

Customer Beware! We used Hunks for moving out of our home in June. The young men who came to help us were very nice, hardworking, professional. HOWEVER, they were clearly not experienced or qualified movers. Scratched several furniture pieces. Dropped a dresser on our sidewalk. Used basically no padding to protect our furniture when moving into storage units, and as such, we have sustained damage to many of our items. Further, when we have attempted to contact management to discuss this issue (on multiple occasions) we have had little to no response. Very disappointing. I suspect they are good at junk services etc. But do not consider them professional movers for items of value to your home. They are not trained for that.

Local Junk Disposal Rules & Recycling Programs in Houston

  • Regular household trash in Houston is typically collected curbside once a week in carts or bags, while recyclables are collected on a separate schedule; residents should keep trash, recycling, and any bulk items in clearly separated piles so crews can identify what goes where.
  • Bulk trash such as furniture, mattresses, and non-hazardous household items is usually picked up on a set day for your neighborhood; items are often required to be placed at the curb no earlier than the day before collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. on pickup day.
  • Many Houston neighborhoods have a volume limit for bulk pickup, often around 5–8 cubic yards per collection (roughly a pile about 6 ft wide × 10–12 ft long × 3 ft high); larger piles may be tagged and require a special request, extra fees, or a private junk removal service.
  • Construction and demolition debris from remodeling projects—such as drywall, tile, roofing, bricks, and large amounts of lumber—is typically not accepted in regular bulk pickup and often must be taken to an approved disposal facility, placed in a rented dumpster, or removed by a private junk hauler.
  • Yard waste like bagged leaves, bundled branches, and grass clippings is usually collected separately from bulk junk; branches often must be cut to a certain length and bundled with string or twine so crews can handle them safely.
  • Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, automotive fluids, propane tanks, certain electronics) are generally not allowed in curbside trash or bulk piles and must be taken to designated household hazardous waste facilities or special collection events.
  • When setting out bulk items, residents should place them at the curb in front of their property without blocking sidewalks, driveways, mailboxes, or storm drains, and avoid placing items under low power lines or tree branches so collection trucks can safely access them.

Because rules and schedules can vary by neighborhood and change over time, always confirm the latest trash, recycling, and bulk pickup guidelines on the official city or county sanitation website before placing items at the curb.

Frequently Asked Questions about Houston Junk Removal

What kinds of items do junk removal companies in Houston usually take?

Most Houston junk removal services will haul away furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, boxes of household clutter, yard debris, and bagged trash, along with small amounts of construction debris like wood, tile, and drywall. Very heavy materials or hazardous waste may require special handling or a different service.

Will a junk removal company in Houston donate or recycle my items?

Many Houston haulers try to donate usable furniture, clothing, and household goods to local charities and send metals, electronics, and cardboard to recycling facilities when possible. Policies vary by company, so ask your hauler how they handle donations and what percentage of items they typically divert from the landfill.

Do I have to be home when the junk removal crew arrives in Houston?

In Houston, many companies prefer that you be on-site to confirm what should go and approve final pricing, but some will offer curbside or driveway pickup if items are clearly marked and accessible. If you cannot be home, confirm payment arrangements and access instructions with the hauler in advance.

How far in advance should I schedule junk removal in Houston?

For standard loads, scheduling 2–3 days in advance is often enough in Houston, especially on weekdays. During busy times like spring cleanouts, summer moves, or post-storm cleanups, it’s wise to book at least a week ahead to get your preferred date and time.

Will Houston junk removal companies take construction and remodeling debris?

Many local haulers do accept construction debris such as lumber, cabinets, flooring, and drywall, but they may charge higher rates for heavy loads and limit materials like concrete, brick, or roofing. Always describe your project in detail so the company can confirm what they accept and provide an accurate quote.

Can junk removal services in Houston handle large property or estate cleanouts?

Yes, many Houston junk removal providers specialize in full home, estate, or office cleanouts and can bring multiple trucks and crew members. These jobs usually require an on-site estimate and may be completed over several trips, depending on the size and access to the property.

Responsible Junk Removal in Houston

Responsible junk removal in Houston means keeping usable items out of the landfill whenever possible. Before tossing everything, consider donating furniture, working appliances, and household goods so they can be reused by local families, and ask your hauler to separate metals, electronics, cardboard, and other recyclables.

Avoid illegal dumping in empty lots, bayous, canals, or along roadways, which can cause flooding, attract pests, and lead to fines. When comparing companies on Junk Removal 365, look for Houston providers that clearly explain their donation partners, recycling practices, and commitment to reuse so you can clean up your space while minimizing your impact on the environment.
